Although most of his time is devoted to performing and teaching, Carlos also occasionally arranges and composes his own music. He has composed music for solo guitar, chamber music including guitar, and other pieces for choir and voice. Although his arrangements also revolve around guitar music, Carlos has also arranged works for jazz band, choir, and a cappella voice. Some of his recent endeavors include a solo guitar work commission by the Guitar Foundation of America, and a guitar arrangement of "Amicizia" by composer Daniel Fisher.
